A painting is worth a thousand words. Watercolors are my passion, I think of myself as a contemporary realist. My watercolors are labors of love, from the photos I take to work from - to the painting itself. My paintings are made with many layers of glazes, which gives the color a wonderful richness. All colors in my work are created from four complimentary colors, a tetrad. The use of color and light are most important in the subjects I choose to paint. I hope my work illustrates the fine detail and depth of color that can be achieved with watercolors.
I have studied watercolor and light, one day a week, at the Worcester Art Museum for over a decade. I have been a member of the Block Island Arts & Crafts Guild since 2003, where I have been on the standards committee for many years, and have served as vice president. My paintings have been shown in galleries on Block Island, RI; Boston, Martha's Vineyard, Worcester, Sterling, West Boylston, & Fitchburg, MA.
